There was a road on the top of the hill, and there was a fair amount of traffic during the day, but at night there was almost no traffic and it was very quiet. The receptionist was kind, and I was told that I could use the shower in the old school building? if I was there. Next time, I'll stay at the original camping spot. However, the Oku-Yahagi Lake side is a pretty mountain pass, so if you don't mind taking a detour, it would be easier to drive from the Inabu side.

I was looking for a place with a beautiful starry sky within cycling distance and used this site. As I had hoped, there was no interference from street lights and I was fortunate to be blessed with good weather, allowing me to enjoy the starry sky. The staff were also very helpful, and even though I was alone, they arranged for me to use the shower, which was very helpful. This time I went completely solo and it was a little scary, but the fees were very reasonable and it seemed possible to stay in the main building or use a bungalow, so I would consider going with a friend.

We used it for camping. It's a facility that uses an abandoned school building I wondered what it would be like. The regular chimes and the dam release siren were cute... But hey, it is a school. I'd like to use it again at a different time of year. It might also be possible to stay overnight in the classrooms of the school building.

The Oku-Yahagi Recreation Center is not a for-profit lodging company, so if you go there expecting to be treated like a Japanese inn or hotel, you may be disappointed. I did not have such expectations, and I thought the facility would be like this based on the information I received at the time of application, so I guess it was as I had expected when I actually stayed there. I think they took care of me by providing a warm dinner and taking the time to make a reservation for the bath. The dinner was freshly prepared and warm, but I felt that there was a bias toward meat-based dishes. I think it was partly due to the budget, but I would have liked a little more vegetables. I also wanted a heater because it was the middle of November. I also wanted blankets for my bedding. I had no choice but to leave the heater on.
